The Wayfarer

Lake Norman, North Carolina

Old-world charm meets modern elegance inside this Charlotte, North Carolina home known as The Wayfarer. Modeled after the French Quarter in New Orleans, this gem features interior architecture influenced by the Spanish rule of the late 18th century. KBN Interiors worked in partnership with Smith Slovik Residential Design Group to breathe New Orleans lifestyle into this dream home.

Nestled in a scenic cove on Lake Norman, The Wayfarer boasts stunning lake views. Inside, the interior architecture glows with the charm and warmth of a romantic European villa. In the foyer, the spanish-style cascading staircase frames a celestial arched portal—an entry point fit for grandiose arrivals and departures of friends and family.

In the spacious kitchen warm hues of taupe and cream are offset by the rich custom cabinetry by B&E Custom Cabinets. Lee Lighting pendants, selected by the KBN design team, compliment the sleek Walker Zanger countertops. Underfoot, the reclaimed brick floor recalls a historical way of life, setting the stage for intimate and cozy gatherings.

Down the hallway the Study opens onto a custom built-in unit designed for top-notch organization and stately appeal. Another highlight is the expansive master bathroom complete with hardwood floors and Roman Tuscan columns that frame an elegant freestanding soaking tub.

Each room, with it's customized selections by KBN Interiors, seamlessly blends a variety of styles, both old and new, for an overall timeless look.
